Today, The Arizona Senate Elections Committee voted to pass HCR2056 with a strike-all amendment designed to dismantle the state’s voting and elections process. The legislation and its amendments passed 4-3 on partisan lines and now heads for a floor vote.

As the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) marks its first 15 years, Common Cause is releasing, “The Little Engine that Could,” a short analysis examining the watchdog’s impact in the House of Representative. A coalition of national organizations advocating for a stronger democracy published a report today evaluating redistricting efforts across all 50 states, awarding just two states with an “A” grade while 20 states earned a “D” or an “F” for their failures in transparency, opportunities for public input, nonpartisanship, and empowerment of communities of color.
