كاثرين تورسر هي المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة Common Cause Ohio. وهي خبيرة في إعادة تقسيم الدوائر الانتخابية وتمويل الحملات الانتخابية على مستوى الولاية، وتدافع كاثرين عن المزيد من الشفافية والحكومة الأكثر خضوعًا للمساءلة، كما قادت جهود الإصلاح على مستوى الولاية منذ منتصف التسعينيات. قبل الانضمام إلى منظمة Common Cause Ohio في أبريل 2012، كانت كاثرين مديرة التشريعات في منظمة Ohio Citizen Action. وخلال فترة عملها في منظمة Ohio Citizen Action، عملت كمديرة لمشروع Money in Politics التابع لمنظمة Ohio Citizen Action وشاركت في تأليف عدد من الدراسات التي تتبع مساهمات الحملات الانتخابية. في عام 2006، حصلت كاثرين على جائزة Spirit of Democracy من وزير خارجية ولاية أوهايو.

Ohioans Approve Bipartisan Reform of Congressional Redistricting in Growing National Trend

Tonight, Ohio voters approved a historic state constitutional amendment that will institute strong protections against partisan political gerrymandering in congressional redistricting.

After democracy advocates collected over 200,000 signatures to place a redistricting initiative on the 2018 ballot, the Ohio General Assembly voted to place Issue 1 on the May ballot with a strong bipartisan vote. Today Ohioans voted to ratify the measure.
