Olga Kauffman Joins Common Cause National Governing Board

Olga Kauffman, a veteran activist and organizer on behalf of Mexican Americans in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, has joined Common Cause’s National Governing Board.

Currently director of development and community affairs for the Mexican American Unity Council (MAUC) in San Antonio, Ms. Kauffman has been a leader in MAUC’s efforts to provide affordable housing, education and community and economic development for moderate to low income families.

Ms. Kauffman attended the University of Texas at Austin and St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Before joining MAUC in 2008, she spent seven years at the Levi Strauss Foundation, where she focused on grant-making, government relations and public affairs.

“Olga Kauffman’s career in the Mexican American community has been focused on one of Common Cause’s core objectives – helping working people make their voices heard. We’re fortunate and pleased to have her on our National Governing Board,” said Bob Edgar, Common Cause president and CEO.
