Press Release
Common Cause Arizona on National Voter Registration Day
Today, Sept. 17, is National Voter Registration Day, a day designated to focus attention and efforts on registering new voters across the country ahead of the Nov. 5 general election.
Eligible Arizonans have until October 7 to register to vote. Residents should register to vote if they:
- Are a U.S. citizen,
- Turn 18 on or before Election Day,
- Have recently moved to Arizona, or
- Are a resident who lives in Arizona but hasn’t already registered, or is unsure if their registration status is up-to-date.
Voter registration cards postmarked by October 7 or submitted online no later than 11:59 pm are valid. In the wake of the purging of Arizona’s voter rolls, all voters, including those already registered, should double-check and update their voter information.
There are multiple ways to register to vote in Arizona. Arizonans can register online through Service Arizona EZ Voter Registration, by mailing it to their County Recorder’s office using a voter registration form, or in person at a County Recorder’s office.
Nonpartisan resources for those with voter registration and eligibility questions include:

In support of National Voter Registration Day, Jenny Guzman, program director of Common Cause Arizona issued the following statement:
“Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy and an opportunity for everyone to help shape our collective future, from our local representatives to the President of the United States. Our democracy is strongest when every Arizonan makes their voice heard. We’re less than one month away from Arizona’s voter registration deadline — it is imperative that every eligible voter can cast their ballot for what will be one of the most critical elections of this decade.”
