On this day 56 years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law, with Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at his side. Congress passed the legislation in response to a broad and diverse coalition of civil rights advocates’ unrelenting calls for stronger voting rights protections. 

The project has been critical in shedding light not only on how politicians are targeting Facebook users, but also whether the platform is complying with its own political advertisement policies.

Today, Twitter suspended several accounts connected with sham election review proposals in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada. We applaud Twitter stepping in to stop the disinformation being spread by these accounts.
