Colorado Common Cause works to ensure that every eligible voter in our state has the tools to register to vote and cast a ballot.
Election Protection
Every eligible voter deserves a say in the policies that impact their daily lives. That is why Common Cause mobilizes volunteers nationwide to help voters cast their ballot.
The right to vote and have our voices heard is fundamental to our democracy. In defense of this right, Common Cause co-leads the Election Protection Coalition to help Americans across the country navigate the voting process and cast their ballot without obstruction, confusion, or intimidation. Our election protection efforts include:
- Deploying thousands of on-the-ground volunteers at polling places
- Recruiting a team of legal experts to staff the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline
- Monitoring social media for harmful election disinformation
These election protection efforts are a crucial line of defense for voters against suppression tactics, confusing laws, outdated infrastructure, and more. Above all, we inform voters of their rights, help elections officials handle problems in real time, and notify attorneys when the situation warrants legal intervention.

‘Dark day for democracy’: Coloradans highlight election threats in wake of 14th Amendment ruling
“Donald Trump lied, cheated, and unleashed violence when the election did not go his way, and his ongoing incitement has led to an unprecedented rise in attacks and death threats against election workers, judges, and other public servants,” Belknap said. “By refusing to hold Trump accountable and allowing him to skirt around the pillars of our Constitution, SCOTUS has greenlit this behavior for future public officials.”

Just Vote! Colorado 2023 Election Day Resources
Just Vote! Colorado Election Protection, the largest nonpartisan voter protection program in the state of Colorado, will support voters throughout Election Day in the 2023 Colorado Coordinated Election.
