RELEASE: Colorado’s Elections are Safe and Secure
Restricting a person’s vote is taking away their freedom. We must ensure that every eligible citizen has the freedom to cast a ballot and that their vote will be accurately counted.
Colorado Common Cause mobilizes volunteers each election to directly assist voters on the ground and identify barriers to voting that we need to solve. We work with state and local election officials, legal advocates, and dozens of grassroots organizations across the state to identify and solve voter protection issues as they happen, and we come back each legislative session to find long-term solutions to the systemic issues that impact Colorado voters.
Colorado Common Cause also leads the Just Vote Colorado Election Protection (Just Vote!) program. Established in 2004, Just Vote is a nonpartisan election protection program that helps Coloradans register to vote and cast a ballot.
Over the years, Just Vote Colorado has reached hundreds of thousands of voters statewide through its interactive website, voter education materials, and bilingual hotline. Thanks to the ongoing support of a nonpartisan team of volunteer lawyers and others, Just Vote is relied upon by both community organizations and the media as a resource for accurate election information.
Just Vote is a coalition consisting of Mi Familia Vota, Disability Law Colorado, the League of Women Voters of Colorado, and the Colorado Lawyers Committee. We coordinate with the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law with respect to our bilingual hotlines.
