Check out some of our most impactful victories:
Mobilizing Election Protection Volunteers
Each election year, Common Cause in Connecticut mobilizes nonpartisan volunteers across the state to serve as a first line of defense for voters. These volunteers answer voters’ questions at their polling places, make sure that voters know their rights, and report any attempts to intimidate or obstruct voters. This program has helped countless Connecticut residents make themselves heard at the ballot box.
Bringing Early Voting to Connecticut
In 2023, Common Cause in Connecticut helped lead efforts to bring 14 days of Early Voting to our state. Early Voting periods improves access to the ballot box by giving voters with busy schedules extra time to make their voice heard. It is a proven, commonsense reform—and after 60% of voters approved a ballot measure amending the Connecticut Constitution to allow for Early Voting in 2022, this was the next key step.
