The For the People Act, designated as H.R.1 and S.1 last Congress, was updated to be the Freedom to Vote Act. It represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a truly inclusive democracy by putting more power in the hands of everyday people by strengthening our voting, elections, and campaign finance laws. This document shows where many of the Freedom to Vote Act reforms have been passed and implemented at the state and local level. This document was created in April 2019 and then updated in February 2021 and again in July 2023.
