Meet Emmet…

Emmet Bondurant is the founding partner Bondurant Mixson & Elmore, an Atlanta-based law firm for trial and appellate legal services. Emmet is a nationally recognized trial lawyer and antitrust expert with 45 years of experience who has argued multiple times before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Emmet’s career has included a strong commitment to community service and pro bono litigation. In 2019 he argued Rucho v. Gemeinsame Ursache before the U.S. Supreme Court, a case he calls a bookend to his winning argument before the Supreme Court in Westbury v. Sanders, perhaps the most important of the one-person, one-vote cases, in 1963.

He has served as president and a director of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and chair of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council. Emmet is the author of various articles on constitutional law and local government issues and speaks frequently at legal seminars.

In 2010, he served as lead counsel for Common Cause when the organization sued the U.S. Senat Und Vice President Joe Biden, in a challenge to the constitutionality of the filibuster in Common Cause v. Biden. Emmet attended the University of Georgia, the University of Georgia School of Law and Harvard Law School.
