Taylor Swift löst massiven Anstieg bei der Wählerregistrierung aus – So können Sie helfen, ihre Stimmen zu schützen!
Incredible news, after pop star Taylor Swift spoke out online about the election this week, over 400,000 people listened to her and went online to register or check their status – about half the population of Wyoming!
As someone who cares about democracy, it warms my heart to see so many young people doing their civic duty. But more importantly, it gives me a sense of duty to make sure their votes are counted, the results are respected, and every first-time voter this year has an experience that keeps them doing so for life.
We must remain vigilant and protect EVERY voter’s rightS this November. Our state leaders and activists are prepared to protect these voters at every step of the process and are already on the front lines doing just that – by:
- Defending voters against newly enacted anti-voter legislation since the last presidential election, like strict voter ID, limits on mail-in voting, or even purges of eligible voters from the rolls.
- Countering the disinformation that fuels these voter suppression efforts with the truth about the integrity of our elections from trusted sources.
- Recruiting and training thousands of knowledgeable, nonpartisan volunteers at polling sites across the country to help every voter know their rights and make their voices heard.
In 2020 and 2022, Common Cause members showed up big time, enabling us to make the crucial investments that helped us show up for voters across the country.
And in 2024, the first presidential election since the January 6th attack, we’re making the necessary – but expensive – decision to expand this campaign further than ever before.
Election Day is just 54 days (about 2 months) away – and voters across the country will soon cast their ballots. Showing up for them like we need to won’t be easy, but it’s the right thing to do – and I’m glad to know we can count you on our side. So, whether you can cover our costs for one or more volunteers – or if you can team up with your fellow Common Cause supporters to fund one, by sponsoring a volunteer you will fuel this HISTORIC effort to protect every voter’s rights today.
