Delaware General Assembly Sends Early Voting Bill To Governor Carney
Today, the Delaware Senate joined the House in passing HB 38, which would establish at least 10 days of early voting. Common Cause Delaware Program Director Jennifer Hill issued the following statement:
“This is a major victory for Delaware voters. People are busy and since Election Day almost always falls on a Tuesday, many eligible voters are at work, in school, or simply can’t make it to the polls. This legislation will increase access to the ballot box for Delaware voters. Early voting is something that has been tried and tested in many states across the country and has proven to be successful. We now ask Governor Carney to sign this bill into law and give more options to every eligible Delawarean to make their voice heard in our elections.”
