Trump debe firmar un compromiso ético y documentos de transición

El presidente electo Donald Trump aún no ha firmado los documentos legales –incluido un compromiso ético– necesarios para iniciar formalmente la transición de poder en su administración. Los candidatos suelen presentar estos documentos mucho antes de las elecciones. Como resultado de esta demora, el gobierno no puede proporcionar autorizaciones de seguridad, reuniones informativas y recursos al equipo entrante de Trump antes de que éste preste juramento al cargo el 20 de enero.

On Tuesday, misinformation researchers tried to get Twitter’s attention to take down unproven rumors and lies. Yosef Getachew, the media and democracy program director of the pro-democracy advocacy group Common Cause, tweeted that “a few super spreaders have been spreading election disinformation narratives throughout the course of the day” and that “not only have these tweets not been removed but many have gone viral, potentially misleading and confusing voters.”

Emma Steiner, a disinformation analyst with the government watchdog group Common Cause, says election deniers are scrambling to find effective narratives for spreading disinformation about the midterm elections.

"Because [GOP] candidates like Dr. [Mehmet] Oz in Pennsylvania and Tudor Dixon in Michigan have already conceded, that makes it a little more difficult for supporters to push claims of election fraud," Steiner told reporters Wednesday.

The nonpartisan watchdog group Common Cause, which monitors social media for voter suppression efforts, said that Twitter took no action on high-profile posts that the organization flagged on Tuesday as problematic.

The group said that “it has taken Twitter much longer than normal to adjudicate” whether the posts violated its policies, a process that usually takes less than three hours but was unresolved after more than three days.
