Mercredi, Common Cause, rejoint par UCC Media Justice, a déposé une requête auprès de la Federal Communications Commission (FCC) demandant à l'agence de rejeter le projet de fusion de 14,4 milliards de livres sterling entre Apollo Global Management, Standard General LP et Tegna Inc. Si elle est approuvée, Standard General acquerrait les 61 stations de télévision à pleine puissance et les deux stations de radio de Tegna sur 50 marchés. Apollo contrôlera les licences de 31 stations de télévision à pleine puissance sur 26 marchés et de 54 stations de radio sur 11 marchés radiophoniques.

Common Cause Requests More Information on Purchase of Tegna by Standard General and Apollo Global Management

Today, Common Cause, along with The NewsGuild-CWA and Public Knowledge filed a Motion for Additional Information and Extension of Time with the Federal Communications Commission. The Motion asks the FCC to require the applicants in Standard General Inc. and Apollo Global Management’s acquisition of Tegna to provide additional information and documents necessary for the agency to determine whether the transaction is in the public interest.
