Au cours de la dernière décennie, Citizens United est devenu le symbole non seulement du déluge d'argent dans nos élections, mais aussi de la frustration des électeurs de ne pas être entendus par leurs élus. Les sondages montrent que seulement 17% d'entre nous pensent que nos partis politiques et nos politiciens « se soucient des gens comme moi ». Le reste d'entre nous se sent privé de ses droits. Seuls 20% d'entre nous sont « satisfaits » des lois de financement des campagnes électorales de notre pays ; le reste d'entre nous veut du changement.
