RootsCamp is coming to Massachusetts!

Common Cause Massachusetts is proud to partner with the New Organizing Institute (NOI), ACLU Massachusetts, MassVOTE and others to host RootsCamp Massachusetts on April 6-7. RootsCamp is an open space “un-conference” for activists to share lessons learned, discuss best practices, and discover opportunities for collaboration. It’s an “un-conference” because there is no pre-set agenda; instead the agenda is driven by the people who attend. In 2012, Common Cause was a proud partner of the national Roots Camp in DC which attracted nearly 2500 participants.

Saturday & Sunday, April 6-7 in Boston

Common Cause Massachusetts will lead a session with MassVOTE on our election modernization campaign and another on reversing Citoyens Unis. Others will lead workshops on issues as diverse as climate change, LGBT rights, and economic fairness. No matter which workshops you choose to attend (there’s a collaborative process for posting them on Saturday), the conversation is sure to be fast-paced and engaging. Tickets are $20 and include breakfast, lunch and snacks for two days.

In 2010, RootsCamp Massachusetts gathered 100 local activists to discuss the successes and challenges they face, and how to create a diverse, powerful and inclusive movement for change. This year we expect to bring together more than 250 people.

Join us. Bring your perspective and curiosity. Promote Common Cause issues and campaigns (or any other issue you are passionate about). Participate. Suggest or facilitate a workshop session. Meet and gain insight from organizers working across the spectrum of progressive issues and campaigns. Grow a network of new friends and collaborators in one weekend.
