Common Cause Georgia Statement on Order for Rudy Giuliani to Testify in Georgia Criminal Investigation

This afternoon, a Georgia judge ordered Rudy Giuliani to testify in Atlanta next month in an ongoing criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump and his criminal co-conspirators’ efforts to overturn the will of the voters in the 2020 presidential election. Giuliani is also the subject of the nonpartisan committee investigation into those who planned, promoted, and paid for the January 6 attack on our country.

The following is a statement from Common Cause Georgia Executive Director Aunna Dennis:

“When Georgia voters went to the polls in November 2020, we did so knowing our choice for president belonged to us, the voters, and the voters alone. When all the votes were counted, Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani engaged in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the results of Georgia’s election. All those who participated in any attempt — successful or not — to overturn the will of the people must be held accountable. We join the voters of Georgia in demanding a full accounting of the effort to meddle with our votes.”
