2022 Midterm Election is TOMORROW

SPRINGFIELD, IL — Illinois voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person or by mail.

Here’s How Illinoisans Can Prepare Themselves

CHICAGO — Illinois voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person or by mail.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Absentee and mail-in ballots must also be postmarked no later than tomorrow, Nov. 8. If you haven’t begun the process of returning your ballot yet, Common Cause Illinois recommends voters submit it in-person. Voters will be able to turn them in at their designated location.

It takes time to count every vote accurately and that’s why Election Day is not results day,” said Jay Young, Common Cause Illinois’ executive director. “An extended timeline in election results is proof that the system works and that election officials are guaranteeing that each and every vote is accurately counted.”

Illinois is no stranger to close elections, and voters may need to be patient to find out the confirmed results in close races as the process of tabulating ballots — in-person and absentee — takes time to ensure accuracy.

Illinois who will be voting on Election Day can find their local polling place here.

Common Cause Illinois also reminds voters to use the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline, 866-OUR-VOTE, if they have any questions or encounter any challenges with casting a ballot on or before Election Day.
