Hello, my name is Isabel Malizia. I am from Silver Spring, Maryland and I am a rising senior at Hood College studying Political Science with a Pre-Law Track. I am a Research & Policy Intern here with Common Cause Maryland. As an aspiring lawyer focusing on public policy, I am excited to be a part of Common Cause Maryland to help advocate for fair election practices to help create a more equitable system. This fall, I will be working with the Research and Policy department to help research/ advocate for better voting practices on college campuses, disability/ language access on ballots, and greater accessibility to bridge the gap between politicians and the general public. My goal through the work is to learn more about advocacy and what goes on behind the scenes of coalition building and to develop great mentor-mentee relationships with our staff.
