2022 Midterm Election is TOMORROW

LANSING, MI — Michigan voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person or by drop box.

Here’s How Michiganders Can Prepare Themselves

LANSING, MI — Michigan voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person or by drop box.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. Absentee, drop box, and mail-in ballots must also be returned and received no later than 8 p.m. tomorrow. Voters will be able to turn them in at their city or township clerk’s office or in a secure drop box provided by their clerk.

It takes time to count every vote accurately and that’s why Election Day is not results day,” said Quentin Turner, Common Cause Michigan’s program director. “An extended timeline in election results is proof that the system works and that election officials are guaranteeing that each and every vote is accurately counted.”

Michigan is no stranger to close elections, and voters may need to be patient to find out the confirmed results in close races as the process of tabulating ballots — in-person and absentee — takes time to ensure accuracy.

Michiganders who will be voting on Election Day can find their local polling place here. In order to vote, Michiganders must bring a voter ID or can sign an affidavit. Same Day registrants will also need to bring a voter ID or proof of residency.

Common Cause Michigan also reminds voters to use the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline, 866-OUR-VOTE, if they have any questions or encounter any challenges with casting a ballot on or before Election Day.
