Protect the Vote in 2024

We know that far too many voters in Michigan, especially voters of color, face barriers to the ballot box—like long lines, not enough voting machines or equipment, confusing laws, disinformation, or even just human error.

That is why this year, Common Cause Michigan is part of the largest nonpartisan Election Protection effort yet. We are mobilizing nonpartisan volunteers across the state to help voters cast their ballot freely and fairly without confusion, obstruction, or intimidation.

Our democracy works best when every voter can participate and when every ballot is counted as cast. Voters deserve to be informed and prepared to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Agee v. Benson Amicus Brief

Common Cause filed a joint amicus brief arguing that the court should scrutinize Michigan’s state Senate map further to determine whether it dilutes Black voting power, particularly in Detroit.
