Protect the Vote in 2024

For this year's all-important elections, we are mobilizing nonpartisan volunteers across Minnesota to help voters cast their ballot without confusion, obstruction, or intimidation.

Our democracy works best when every voter can participate and when every ballot is counted as cast. That is why we are mobilizing nonpartisan volunteers across the state this year to help voters cast their ballot freely and fairly.

We know that far too many voters in Minnesota, especially voters of color, face barriers to the ballot box—like long lines, not enough voting machines or equipment, confusing laws, disinformation, or even just human error.

That is why this year, Common Cause Minnesota is part of the largest nonpartisan Election Protection effort. Voters deserve to be informed and prepared to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

As part of Common Cause Minnesota’s work to protect the vote in 2024, we will:

  • Train nonpartisan volunteers and send them to polling places around the state, where they will answer voters’ questions and serve as a first line of defense against voter suppression tactics.
  • Monitor social media platforms for misleading and false content designed to confuse voters.
  • Promote the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline, which voters can call to address any questions or issue.
  • Bring any major problems to the attention of elections officials and, if necessary, take legal action in defense
