Minnesotans Approach Upcoming Deadlines for Voter Registration
PAUL, MN — New voters and voters who need to make updates have until Tuesday, Oct. 18, to submit their online application to register to vote in the Nov. 8 midterm election. Mail-in registrations must be received by 5 p.m. the same day in order to be accepted.
If Minnesota voters miss the Oct. 18 deadline, they also have the option of registering to vote when they arrive at their polling place on Election Day or early vote location. To register on Election Day, voters must bring an eligible proof of residence.
All Minnesotans should double-check their voter registration in order to update or correct any appropriate information, said Suzanne Almeida, director of state operations at Common Cause.
“The right to vote is the foundation of our government, and elections — both generals and primaries — are a key element of that foundation,” Almeida said. “Please encourage your friends, family, and community to spend a few minutes ensuring their right to vote is intact and ready for Nov. 8 by registering to vote.”
Minnesotans can register to vote online and make any needed changes to existing voter registrations at https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/register-to-vote/.
