2022 Midterm Election is TOMORROW

ST. PAUL, MN — Minnesota voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person on Election Day or by dropping their vote-by-mail ballot off at a county elections office or a ballot drop box.

Here’s How Minnesotans Can Prepare Themselves

ST. PAUL, MN — Minnesota voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 8 to make their voices heard in the 2022 midterm election. Voters can cast a ballot in-person on Election Day or by dropping their vote-by-mail ballot off at a county elections office or a ballot drop box.

Polls will be open tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST.  If they received a vote-by-mail ballot, Minnesotans should return it to their local county election office or a ballot drop box. Mail-in ballots must also be returned no later than 8 p.m. on Nov. 8. Common Cause Minnesota recommends voters submit it in-person.

It takes time to count every vote accurately and that’s why Election Day is not results day,” said Suzanne Almeida, Common Cause’s director of state operations. “An extended timeline in election results is proof that the system works and that election officials are guaranteeing that each and every vote is accurately counted.”

Minnesota is no stranger to close elections, and voters and candidates need to be patient to find out the confirmed results in close races as the process of tabulating ballots — in-person and vote-by-mail — takes time to ensure accuracy.

Minnesotans who will be voting on Election Day can find their polling place here. If their voter registration is current and active, they will not need to bring identification. However, if they are Same Day registering or need to update their current registration, they will need to bring proof of residence.

Common Cause Minnesota also reminds voters to use the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline, 866-OUR-VOTE, if they have any questions or encounter any challenges with casting a ballot on or before Election Day.
