Don’t wait to make your voice heard. Voting is the best way to affect change now
Article
Common Cause Nebraska is reminding voters of the upcoming deadlines for voter registration and absentee mail ballots and encouraging them to check their registrations and request their ballots.
Both the voter registration and absentee mail ballot request deadlines are October 18. Early in-person voting begins one week later, on October 25.
Common Cause Nebraska is also encouraging voters to ensure they have an acceptable photo ID available when they vote to reflect recent election changes. This is the first-year the state is requiring voters to present a photo ID when casting a ballot. For more information on acceptable forms of ID, click here.
Common Cause Nebraska is part of the largest nonpartisan election protection program, which runs the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline and protectthevote.net website. If you have issues registering to vote or voting early, the following hotline numbers are active for voters to call or text in the following languages:

“Don’t wait until it’s too late to prepare yourself to vote in this year’s critical election. Make sure you have an acceptable photo ID, make sure you are registered to vote and that you have a plan to vote. If you run into problems, call or text 866-OUR-VOTE. Holding power accountable requires the people using their voice at the ballot box and this election is no different,” said Gavin Geis, Executive Director of Common Cause Nebraska.
