We need a state legislature that looks like and understands the needs of our people. New Mexico has the only remaining nonsalaried legislature in the nation. We're working on reforms to fairly compensate legislators so that New Mexicans from all walks of life can afford to serve—not just the rich, retired, or extremely resourceful.
