Common Cause New Mexico Outlines Good Government Priorities for 2023 Session
Modernizing the legislative process, with more staff, longer sessions and compensation for legislators is the top priority for Common Cause in the upcoming 60-day NM Legislative session.
We are happy to see the passage of SB8: LAW ENFORCEMENT BODY CAMERAS to hold police accountable and improve transparency. We will continue to advocate for bills similar to SB7: REDUCE INSTITUTIONAL RACISM after it faltered in the Special Session.
Tell ABQ City Council to Support Majority Rule for Fair Elections!
Urge City Council not to override the mayor's veto of an undemocratic resolution. The resolution would take our city backward and would allow city leaders to be elected with very little public support.
