Our Impact
When Common Cause North Carolina takes action, we make a real difference for democracy.
With the support of our dedicated members, we’ve shown up time and time again to protect the freedoms of all North Carolinians. We’ll continue our work to make government more open, honest, and accountable to the people. Check out some of our most impactful victories:
Building a democracy for all in North Carolina
Defending our Freedom to Vote in North Carolina
We’re at the forefront of protecting voting rights in North Carolina. We and our pro-democracy partners have successfully fought to preserve crucial voting access, including early voting. We’ve earned historic victories against anti-voter gerrymandering. And most recently, we won our landmark case at the U.S. Supreme Court in Moore v. Harper, defeating a radical power grab by extremist politicians who had tried to seize control over federal elections in our state. Our crucial work continues every day as we protect the vote and work to empower voters throughout North Carolina.
Empowering a New Generation of Democracy Leaders
Our Common Cause HBCU Student Action Alliance empowers students at North Carolina’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We’re strengthening civic engagement as we help students make their voices heard on campus, in the community, at the ballot box, and in the halls of government. Our Common Cause North Carolina Democracy Fellows are active at all 10 HBCU campuses in our state, inspiring a student-led, pro-democracy movement.
