Columbus — As Ohioans continue working through obstacles to the ballot stemming from the tight timeline established by the state legislature, members of the Ohio Voter Rights Coalition are intensifying their work to protect the vote, with additional efforts to monitor, troubleshoot, and empower voters.

The Ohio Voter Rights Coalition is inviting members of the media to a press call TODAY at 1 p.m. EST to discuss voters’ experiences, advocates’ findings, and measures the coalition is taking to ensure that as many eligible Ohioans as possible can make their voice heard.

What:                Press Call (Zoom)

Who:                Jen Miller, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Ohio, Mike Brickner, Ohio State Director All Voting is Local, Catherine Turcer, Executive Director of Common Cause Ohio

When:               TODAY Tuesday, April 28, 1 p.m. EST

Note:                 This event will be conducted via Zoom. Members of the press may dial in through this link.

All across the state, Ohioans of all backgrounds, races and ideologies are having to make tough decisions between their health and their vote. But these circumstances were manufactured — our elections did not have to be like this. The Ohio legislature, unfortunately, has needlessly endangered our democracy by refusing to provide sufficient time or financial resources to conduct a vote-by-mail election amid a pandemic.

Voters facing issues with their right to vote should dial 866-OUR-VOTE for support.
