Arizona Sham Election Review Has Destroyed Ballots and Voting Machines
Sen. Mastriano Wants To Replicate the Process in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Sen. Doug Mastriano visited the Arizona State Fairgrounds yesterday, where charlatan consultants have been conducting a sham review of the November 2020 general election. Voting machines and ballots have been irrevocably destroyed in the process. He is proposing to replicate the process in Pennsylvania.
Statement of Khalif Ali, Executive Director of Common Cause Pennsylvania
The people of Pennsylvania have spent enough money indulging Sen. Mastriano’s fantasies of overturning the presidential election results.
Our election results were already audited — through a real audit. Our election results have been certified, and our electoral votes counted by Congress. President Biden was inaugurated months ago.
What’s happening in Arizona now is a costly sideshow. The Republican chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors described it as “a grift disguised as an audit.”
Make no mistake about it: some groups — including the Arizona GOP — have been raising money off of it.
But it’s the people of Arizona who are going to end up paying the costs. The private vendors’ activities have irreversibly compromised both the ballots and the voting machines. The voting machines will need to be replaced, at a cost of millions of dollars. Ballots have been left unattended and unsecured.
And now Sen. Mastriano wants to bring the Arizona sham review to our state as he considers running for Governor.
But the people of Pennsylvania shouldn’t be forced to subsidize either Sen. Mastriano’s fantasies or his political ambitions.
We urge the Pennsylvania Senate to listen to the Republican-controlled Maricopa County Supervisors, and stop this before it starts.
Pennsylvania’s voters have already spoken. Rather than focusing on the whims of one Senator, it’s time for the Senate to do the job voters elected them to do.
