WPRI 12 News: House OKs bill to give Warwick a voice on RIAC board

Below is Common Cause staff’s quote regarding new legislation allowing the Warwick mayor appointment power for one member to the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) board. 

“Giving the mayor of Warwick a pick on a state board violates our state constitution, regardless of whether it’s a good policy idea,” Marion wrote. “We need to stop going backwards on separation of powers in Rhode Island.”
