“Requiring statewide candidates to win the popular vote and also win the majority of counties is a thinly-veiled attempt to disenfranchise the millions of Black and Brown Texans who are clustered in our large, metro counties," said Anthony Gutierrez, executive director of Common Cause Texas.

“If the countywide polling place program were not in place today, thousands of North Texans who are dealing with power outages and tornado warnings would also be left scrambling trying to figure out where to vote," said Anthony Gutierrez, executive director of Common Cause Texas.
