A new website focused on you

With feedback from you, our users, we have rebuilt our website entirely from scratch, organizing it from the ground work to help you find what you’re looking for. Please explore the website and tell us what you think.

Welcome to the new Common Cause website! We are thrilled to bring this new experience to our visitors, and would appreciate any feedback you have (please click here to send us feedback on the new website).

Over the last 12 months, we’ve listened to our members and website visitors to learn more about what they need from our website. They told us they want a website that is easy to navigate (especially between our national work and our work in 30 states), explains what we do and how we do it, and lets people can get involved and make an impact on the critical issues facing our democracy.

With that feedback, we have rebuilt our website entirely from scratch, organizing it from the ground work to help you find what you’re looking for. Please explore the website and tell us what you think. Some highlights to make sure to see:

  • We’re thrilled to show you our new brand identity, including a refreshed logo and an updated look and feel. Our new style uses bolder typography and colors and more visual appeal through photographs, and is consistent across our network of 30 states, as well as across different mediums like our website, our emails, Facebook & Twitter, and print materials. Learn more about our new brand.
  • Visitors to commoncause.org can now easily find Common Cause in their state, and every state has a more robust web presence. Each state is different, so each Common Cause state focuses on unique campaigns for their state, but are united in shared values and a vision for a better democracy. Our new design and architecture uses consistent language, color and iconography to tie together the critical democracy issues we are working on nationally and in the states. In addition, many states have deep integration with their social media platforms on their homepage.
  • We’ve put Ating Epekto up front — we are proud of our history of impact and believe it sets us apart.
  • We now more clearly describe Our Work and the issues that are critical to our democracy — and our shared values. And we ask visitors to engage with these values, and to, quite literally, to share them.
  • Kawad ng Demokrasya, your daily news and updates from the democracy movement, has a stronger presence on the homepage. Soon we’ll feature writers on the frontlines of the pro-democracy movement providing more news, commentary, and multimedia features as we transition Democracy Wire from organizational blog to independent publication.
  • Our Reports, Legal Filings and other Mga mapagkukunan are more easily searchable by type and issue.
  • We provide visitors with more ways to engage in our campaigns, from specific online actions you can take like signing up to volunteer with our national or state staff and make even more of an impact.
  • Our sister 501(c)(3) organization, Common Cause Education Fund, also has an expanded web presence to better highlight its important research and civic engagement work.
  • In our media center you’ll find press releases, a sampling of the hundreds of print, radio, and TV coverage about Common Cause from across the country each day.
  • We’ve built the website to be fast, secure, and easy-to-use on all kinds of devices, including tablets and mobile phones.

And finally, we now provide a powerful set of civic engagement tools: a unique “Find your Representatives” tool that uses your address to find your Federal, State and Local elected officials, and if the data is available, which legislative committees they sit on, what bills they have sponsored and where they received their campaign contributions… and of course, how you as their constituent can get in touch with them.

We also have embedded a set of voting tools (from voter registration to checking your registration status to absentee ballot requests). We hope users will make use of these tools, and share them with friends, family and their community.

A website is always a work-in-progress. We will be updating, expanding and improving the site in the weeks and months to come. Your feedback is important to this process — please use our Contact Form to send us your feedback. Or reach out to us directly at causenet@commoncause.org.

As always, thanks for all you do everyday to advance democracy for all of us.
