Matt Gaetz just announced he is dropping out as President-elect Trump’s nominee for Attorney General.

Even though Gaetz has dropped out, this fight is far from over. The allegations against Gaetz go to the heart of his fitness for any role in public service – and we deserve the truth. 

Gaetz has a long track record of supporting insurrectionists, pushing anti-voter legislation, and embracing racist conspiracy theories.  And that’s just what we already know.   

In Matt Gaetz, President-elect Trump found an Attorney General nominee who was prepared to take his radical anti-voter agenda to another level.  

With your help, we decisively rejected this extreme nomination. But for the sake of our country and our democracy, we must continue demanding transparency and high ethical standards for our public officials. 

President-elect Trump will likely continue to push dangerous nominees who prioritize loyalty to him over the rule of law – using any means necessary, including recess appointments. We can’t let our guard down.
