Washington, DC—Last evening, former U.S. Representative Pat Schroeder passed away at the age of 82. She served on the board of Common Cause from 2009 through 2015. The following is a statement from Common Cause Board Chair Martha Tierney.

“Pat Schroeder was as tough as they come, never afraid to speak her mind or disrupt the status quo. She is part of the generations of women shaping Common Cause, demonstrating our democracy reform agenda requires a relentless commitment to doing hard work and having the courage to get involved. While our hearts are heavy to learn Pat has left us, we are grateful for all she did to improve our democracy for all.”
