Trong một động thái mang tính bước ngoặt nhằm mở rộng quyền bỏ phiếu và thúc đẩy sự tham gia dân chủ, Đại diện Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) và Thượng nghị sĩ Peter Welch (VT) hôm nay đã giới thiệu Đạo luật Dân chủ Toàn diện năm 2023. Đạo luật mang tính đột phá này nhằm xóa bỏ hành vi phân biệt đối xử là tước quyền bầu cử trong các cuộc bầu cử liên bang, đảm bảo rằng tất cả người Mỹ, bất kể có bị kết án hình sự hay không, đều có quyền bỏ phiếu cơ bản.
